GCU’s on-campus housing availability is based on application and eligibility through the housing portal. While new students are encouraged to apply early, assignment is subject to space and housing requirements, so it’s important to complete your housing application promptly.

GCU offers suite-style residence halls and on-campus apartments, giving students options for different living experiences and lifestyles. There are multiple floor plans to choose from to best meet your needs.

If you don’t already have a roommate, you’ll complete a roommate matching questionnaire as part of the GCU housing application. Your answers help match you with a roommate based on shared living preferences. It’s important to answer honestly, as potential roommates can view your responses and you can view theirs. Then, you can find someone who’s a good fit for your day-to-day habits and lifestyle.

Students self-select their housing assignment in the housing application. Room selection options may vary based on classification and availability. Remember to keep checking your GCU email regularly for updates.

All students housed on GCU’s campus are required to choose a meal plan. Details and options can be found on our housing and meal costs page for you to choose the plan that best fits your needs.

GCU residence halls have community standards and quiet hours to support a respectful and productive living environment. Quiet hours are typically between 10 pm – 10 am daily.

The Department of Residence Life at GCU provides guidelines for guests and visitation to ensure a safe, respectful community. These include specific guest sign-in forms and parking passes. Students should follow the current visitation policies shared at check-in and through housing communications.

In many cases, student loans may be used to help cover education-related expenses, which can include on-campus housing. Financial aid eligibility and loan amounts vary based on factors such as enrollment status, cost of attendance and individual financial need. Students are encouraged to review their specific financial aid package to understand what expenses may be covered. On-campus housing costs vary depending on the residence hall or apartment and the occupancy type you choose (e.g., single vs. double). These housing rates are outlined in the university’s housing and meal costs page and are part of the overall cost of attendance. 

Housing charges typically include the cost of rent, water, electricity and internet access. Most on-campus rooms and apartments come fully furnished.

Housing payments are billed separately from tuition but are charged directly to your student account at GCU. These charges are included as part of your cost of attendance and are handled through the university’s billing process.
